The Josephine Baker white satin gown and accessories was on my wish list for ages and I finally got them this week. The gown is as gorgeous as I expected but I’m so disappointed that the shoes aren’t up to the usual FR standard: they came from a never opened packet but the soles were coming off the upper! It reminded me of the dodgy quality of the Funny Face outfits (uneven hems, fraying seams, sewn in petticoats, etc). Are the Hollywood legends dolls and outfits made by different manufacturers?

I am not sure what you mean with different manufacturer. The dolls are all made by IT in factories in China. I am not privy to changes in staff that may have resulted in different quality.

I wish I could upload photos to show you what I mean. I bought all of the Funny Face outfits on the aftermarket and they just aren’t the same quality as the regular FR/Poppy Parker clothes.
